What is it with post-punk bands and their post-modern antics? First Wire toured with "Pink-Flag" cover band Ex-Lion Tamers (back in the day, somewhat). Then the Gang of Four released their first new recordings in a couple of decades -- Return the Gift which consists of cover versions of material from their heyday.
Now another officially sanctioned cover band, but not quite so Indie. Devo 2.0 are a band of pre-teens covering Devo songs, but their album is being released by Disney. They are slated to perform at "state fairs and suburban shopping malls".
